Whether an Expedia booking can be cancelled or refunded is not determined by the platform name alone. The Rules and Restrictions set by the hotel, airline, car-rental company, or other travel provider for the specific booking determine cancellation, refundability, applicable charges, and other limits. Those terms are presented before a booking is made.
This guide does not quote a fixed cashback rate. Eligibility, rates, booking exclusions, and posting requirements can change, so rely on the cashback platform’s merchant page on the day you book.
Decide whether the booking can absorb a change
When comparing options, treat “refundable” as a booking condition to verify, not as a fixed characteristic of a destination or provider. Read the cancellation terms for the chosen room, flight, car, or activity, including the deadline, potential loss of payment, and change restrictions. If the travel date, visa, connection, or companion plans remain uncertain, do not infer the outcome from another booking’s rules.
Expedia’s terms state that violating a travel provider’s relevant rules may result in a booking being cancelled or money already paid being lost, depending on that provider’s rules. A lower-priced but tightly restricted option is therefore suitable only when the risk of a change is acceptable.
Treat the confirmation email as the booking record
The booking confirmation contains order elements such as the travel service description and price. Check the dates, traveller names, provider, cancellation terms, payment status, and contact details as soon as it arrives, then save a PDF or screenshot. Expedia’s terms direct travellers who have not received a confirmation within 24 hours of booking to contact its Help Center.
An accepted booking normally is not changed by later price movements, although Expedia’s terms reserve room to correct an obvious pricing error. A lower price found later does not mean the original booking is automatically cancellable or repriced.
Watch for bookings completed with a third party
Some services may redirect from Expedia to a third party to complete the booking. In that case, the booking is with the third party rather than Expedia, and that party’s terms set the relevant rights and responsibilities. The provider name on the payment page and confirmation email should match the party that handles the booking or a later claim.
Platform-wide terms do not replace the conditions displayed for an individual order, nor do they create one cancellation window for every hotel, flight, or package. Even after seeing a “cancellable” label, confirm the dates, charges, and service components to which it applies.
Cashback access
The links below open cashback platform registration or account pages. They do not mean that any platform necessarily offers cashback for Expedia. On each platform, search for Expedia again and check the region, travel-product category, booking exclusions, click tracking, and current terms before starting the booking.

- Save the cancellation, refund, change, and fee conditions for each selected travel service.
- Check the dates, traveller details, total price, and actual travel provider in the confirmation email.
- Do not apply the terms of another room, flight, or old booking to the current order.
- When redirected to a third party, confirm who handles the booking and any after-sales request.
- Start the booking only after entering through a cashback platform, and retain the click record, confirmation email, and same-day terms.
